Skolelinux (also known as Debian Edu) is an open source, free (libre) operating system based on the award winning Debian GNU/Linux distribution and specifically designed to be used on various educational institutions around the world.

Skolelinux is the Debian-edu project’s Custom Debian Distribution (CDD) in development. It is aiming to provide an out-of-the-box localised environment tailored for schools and universities.

Skolelinux Live DVD provides a simply way to demonstrate Skolelinux possibilities for end users.

The core goals of Skolelinux are localisation and ease of system administration.
