Astrumi (Austrum Latvijas Linukss) is an open source, free and bootable Live Linux distribution based on the Slackware Linux operating system.

It is based on Slackware. It was created and is currently being maintained by a group of programmers from Latgale region of Latvia.

It requires limited system resources and can run on any Intel-compatible system with a CD-ROM installed.

The entire operating system and all the applications run from RAM, making Austrumi a fast system, and allowing the boot medium to be removed after the operating system starts.

Because of the fact that Astrumi only requires few system resources it is recommended for old hardware and low-end computers.
