ImageMagick is an open-source project composed of various command-line services for managing image files. It is available in nearly all Linux distributions.

The application holds over 200 picture file formats, including, but not restricted to, JPG, PhotoCD, PNG, SVG, DPX, GIF, PDF, EXR, JPEG-2000, PhotoCD, Postscript, and TIFF.

With ImageMagick, users will be capable to transform pictures from one format to another, resize, trim, rotate, flip or crop pictures, create transparent icons, add text or shape to an icon, add particular effects like sharpening, threshold, blur, or tint, create GIF animations, as well as add frames or borders.

Additionally, users will be capable to insert artistic or explanatory text in pictures, decrease the number of colors in an illustration, set attributes and format of an image, overlap two or many images, build montages, correct picture distortions, and define shapes.
